Welcome to Slade PTA! As a family at the school, you are automatically part of the PTA, which is run on your behalf by a volunteer committee.

The PTA raises funds to enhance school life through subsidising trips, purchasing or replacing equipment and supporting initiatives such as healthy lifestyles through campaigns to provide the ‘Perfect Playground’. Every penny of profit we make is spent on these activities.

To support these fundraising efforts and foster the school’s community, the PTA organises a number of events throughout the year including fetes, scavenger hunts and the Christmas sale, where children can purchase small presents for their family from donated items.

PTA meetings are held on the second Thursday of every half term, starting at 7.30pm. These are not restricted to the committee (who are parents who have volunteered to take an active role in the management of the PTA) and are open to any parent, guardian or teacher who would like to come along and talk about how we can all support the school. Details are sent out about a week before the meeting. Before our AGM, which usually takes place in October, details of the committee roles and how you can express an interest in them will be sent out to all parents and guardians.

Slade PTA has a Facebook group that can be found by searching 'Slade Primary School PTA', where we post regular update. PTA news items also feature regularly in the school’s weekly newsletter.

If you can’t commit to regular involvement, please do still consider whether you can volunteer to help at an individual event; these can’t happen without your support. The PTA is always on the lookout for those who can commit some time to an event, whether that is helping with ticket sales, staffing the refreshment stall for an hour, baking, or preparing something at home that we need for the event. We’re also encouraging parents and guardians who can do so to support the PTA through regular giving. The standing order form, which has our bank account details included to allow you to do this through online banking if that is more convenient for you, can be accessed on this page, below under Useful Links, along with a Gift Aid declaration, which can be filled in and returned to the PTA via our contact email sladepta@yahoo.co.uk
